Terminator Movie review

This weekend I was really bored at home so I decided to watch a movie. As I was looking through my collection I found the last of the Terminator series; Terminator Salvation. To make an awesome blog about it I decided to create a movie review. Here it is and be sure to watch it.

I think that the new Terminator movie gets two thumbs up. The new sequel to the sci-fi thrillers is packed with action, suspense and doesn’t get boring.
John Connor is the man picked to keep the human race going against Skynet and the army of Terminators. The future that John Connor has been brought up to believe in has now changed completely from a strange and mysterious man called Marcus Wright. The last memory that Marcus can remember is being killed but yet he’s still there. The vital decision that Connor needs to make is to decide if Marcus is a traitor working with the terminators or is trying to help what’s left of the human race. After breaking into the Skynet headcounters, Connor and Wright meet up to try to terminate the terminators.
Directed by McG this movie has a number of amazing actors. John Connor is played by Christian Bale, while Sam Worthington is Marcus Wright. I believe that Christian Bale and Sam Worthington had a hard job acting that needed a lot of concentration because playing the part of human survivors, fighting against a whole army of robots seems very tough. With this movie being the fourth in its series there are a number of things that could have been changed and also kept the same. One of the biggest differences in this movie and the previous three are the graphics and special effects. The older movies had more of a action based plot and each movie later they are becoming more and more of a suspense movie meant to keep you on the edge of your seat.
I think that the special effects were everything in this movie. Without the special effects this movie would have been horrible because the whole terminator armies aren’t actors and they need to be digitally created. One of my favorite scenes is when John Connor comes into a deserted city and finds another human, but the person is actually a Terminator robot and then starts shooting at Connor. This is just an example of how the special effects played a key role in this movie and without them this scene wouldn’t have been created. The music also went very well with the movie because it added suspense throughout the entire part.
This movie was rated pg-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi violence, and language. Given that this movie is pg-13 I think that it’s for anybody that likes sci-fi and thriller movies. I personally think that this movie should be for kids 13 and up, not just because it has a lot of violence but because it is hard to understand so the older you are the better the movie will become. Watching the previous terminators also helps, so you start from the beginning and you can follow the movies as they continue.

Pro's & Con's

For our English 9 class we are expected to write in our blog quite frequently and even though sometimes it can be fun, it also can be a drag. For this post we were required to talk about the Pro's and Con's of blogging. Ok, so the pro's pretty much can just be laid out right now. You can write about your life so I guess its kind of like a diary, once your blog is going you can get quite a lot of people reading it, and also if you do write in it for English class it’s a fairly easy grade compared to being forced to write essays. There are actually a few Con's too that actually bother me a little bit. For one, I don’t really like being "forced" to write things I don’t want to. To me its pretty much like forcing me to read something that I don’t want to read. I would rather choose a book out of a group of them instead of just being forced to read a specific one, just like how I would write in this blog for a class but on my own time rather than with guidelines. I think that if our grade depended on how good the blog progressed and how interesting it was then kids would update it more regularly and it would be more like a twitter account thing. Overall I feel rather positive about the whole blog thing because its defiantly not the hardest assignment that we had and it can really help our grade if we take a few minutes every week to write a new post.

PSN (PlayStation Network)

Video games are a huge part of people lives today and unfortunate or not, millions of people use them everyday for hours. Obviously with such a high demand of video games there is quite a lot of competition in the "video game business." Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft control most of this competition with their three main consoles, the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo WII. Even though the WII caters to younger gamers or to family's and the Xbox 360 is much better for playing online games; Sony falls within both of these categories and cannot afford to loose costumers. A little more than a month ago the PlayStation Network, which is the service that allows people to play online, went down. This means that PlayStation users couldn't only play games like Call of Duty online with their friends but they also couldn't use the services that  PlayStation has to offer, such as Netflix. The PSN had gone down not from maintenance but from a hacking team that took over the network. This is something that was really surprising because being a trillion dollar company, Sony really doesn't have the option to let something like this happen. To make matters worse, out of the 70 million PlayStation users, 20 million had their credit card information accessed. This even really did hurt Sony a lot even though they did everything they could to fix it in time but they're stocks went down dramatically and ps3 trade ins skyrocketed. I personally still think that PlayStation is a great console and that Sony just made a mistake that will help them in the future so this wont happen again.

Agua

Water is something that every country, every state and every person needs every day.  Unfortunately water causes many problems especially with the country I live in but also water has been a major problem for Japan, with there tsunami that destroyed a rather large part of the county. Here in Venezuela water has really affected the country the past 4 years. About 3 years ago there was a time when it rained for 3 days straight. Given that Venezuela is a very mountainous country flooding was not an issue but what is, are landslides. Landslides can be very destructive here and a big problem with them is that they can block narrow streets that completely stop traffic. Then about 2 years ago there was another water problem here in Venezuela. There was a severe drought for a little more than 6 months. Ironically this also caused landslides because of how dry the sides of the mountains were. Also there were many fires that started on the Avila because of how dry the vegetation was. Just when things concerning water couldn't get any worse, they did. With the lack of water, the lakes started shrinking and shrinking therefore the dams didn’t have any water to create electricity. This was a major problem because Venezuela's biggest electricity creator is by hydropower. A few months later electricity was beginning to be rationed for everybody and the power was physically shut of at certain times in the day. The problem with this was that when it was turned back on, big units like AC's and TV's were getting fried with the huge input of electricity. So far everything related to water here is back to how it used to be but it really does show how delicate the country is concerning water and how it can really affect everything.

3D TV's

Hello readers, Bucky here! As you guys are all aware of, television has truly evolved throughout the past few years. When our parents were kids color was brought to TV and from then many amazing things have changed just to let us have a better viewing experience. A little less than 8 years ago TV's were starting to become something that were big and bulky and couldn't be moved around a lot. Plasma TV's started to become popular and not only was the quality terrific but also the thickness of the TV was nearly only inches thick. Ever science then the battle to create the best, thinnest TV has been going on for years until a new kind of technology was brought out. 3D movies have been out for a while but never for personal usage and therefore they're are many pro's and cons but overall I am against them . First of all who likes to wear glass when they watch TV? I get headaches with out them and for me wearing glasses while watching something really gives me a headache. Also the biggest thing is the price. While normal LED, or plasma TV's can cost up to 1500 dollars, a good quality 3D TVs can easily cost up to double the amount of money. For something that I don’t even do that often, I don’t really think that watching  TV really deserves 3000 Dollars of my money. Even if you get past the tremendous price of these TV's you still have to realize that almost all TV programs are not in 3D and therefore your going to have to buy 3D movies which aren't abundant. I really think that a high end non- 3D TV is worth much more than a 3D and that personal 3D technology is just a fad like CD's.

Blackopz

Hey readers, Bucky here! Today I have a amazingly popular topic to talk about, Call of Duty Black ops. Blackops is the latest edition of the Call of Duty series. Call of Duty is a first person shooter which basically means you shoot people in a video game. Something to take note, is that you cannot judge this game without playing it. Before I had played the "Call of Duty" series I thought that it was kind of stupid and a nerdy thing to do but once you play, your hooked. There are basically three different modes that this game has to offer, Campaign, Multiplayer and Zombies. The Campaign is a story based game mode where you become a player that travels around the world while working in undercover operations. Something that the Call of Duty series is known for is combing historical events into they're games so you can kind of experience what happened. In Blackops, Fidel Castro is brought into the game and you can get an idea of what he did to start his revolution. The next option of how you can play this game is Multiplayer. Multiplayer takes this game to a whole new level and this is achieved by allowing anybody who has the game to be able to play with each other just over an internet connection. This is very fun and lets people interact over the game online by talking through a microphone and makes the game seem very real. The last option of how to play this game is called Zombies. Zombies is a game mode that allows you to take on waves of the undead. You can play this game either by yourself or with a few friends but the basic idea is to survive as many rounds as possible. Every round more and more zombies come into the map and you have to fend them off. Overall this game is very fun and it is definitely something that will keep you occupied. The thing to remember is not to judge this game before you play it!

Audiophile time

Hello readers  Bucky here! I'm going to be talking about a great interest of mine, Technology. Specifically I'm going to be talking about headphones. For a while I have been really interested in headphones and speakers and also listening to great quality music. This interest sparked one day when I was listening to my IPod a while back with the stock white apple ear buds. I was with my family and we had been out shopping for most of the day and we decided to go to BestBuy or some electronics department like that. I saw a bunch of headphones and decided to try them all out. I was completely astounded when I even heard the cheapest pair. They were nothing like the stock white ones I used. The music was completely put into a different level and I could hear thing in the songs that I never even knew were there. After that I invested some money into a pair of Bose ear buds that were outstanding. Soon after I purchased a pair of Logitech Z2300's which are computer speakers. I was super happy with this purchase because this 2:1 speaker system was just amazing. I spent many hours listening to music while doing my hw after that. Very recently for Christmas I got a pair of Beat Studios made by Monster. These headphones are simply crazy and have changed the way I listen to music. Not only do these headphones look amazing but they also sound extraordinary. Since I've gotten them I have had to listen to all of my songs again just to here the hidden details that the songs have. One of the coolest thing though is that the audio is so crisp and clear that you can actually hear the breath of the artists singing. This might be kind of creepy but it defiantly allows you to experience all of the music. I take my music very seriously and something that I cannot stand is to listen to music with a cheap pair of headphones for very long.
