Tha beach!

Hello readers, Bucky here and today I'm going to be talking about a very hot topic, the beach. Ever since I can remember I have always gone to the beach quite frequently. I have always loved the beach but there are definitely some things that I'm not to crazy about. To start with the positives, the beach is just an awesome place because there is an unlimited supply of sand. Almost every time I travel to the beach I have to make a huge fort with the sand and it can be especially big because of the unlimited supply of sand. Another really good thing about the beach is when you come out of the water and take a drink of anything  cold. It is probably the most refreshing thing ever. There are two types of beaches that I go to. Calm beaches were the water is like glass and you can see down super deep. The other kind is the wavy type where there are huge swells that knock me to my feet every time they come in.  I actually like beaches with a lot of waves more than calm beaches but an exception is that I can take photos of all the underwater life when its calm. The beaches with a lot of waves are a lot more fun because I love to just let the waves knock me over and boogie board. I haven't tried surfing but I bet I would really enjoy it. It may be ironic but something that I also hate about the beach is the sand. One of the worst feelings ever, is when your wet and sandy and you have to just sit (or walk) without rinsing off. I actually cannot be more uncomfortable when I have to do this. Something else that I'm not a big fan of is extreme humidity at the beach but that’s minor because you cant have everything you want! I cant wait to go to the beach again and play in the waves.

The walking dead

Now that LOST is over I had to find another T.V series to watch. I'm not really into watching T.V so I had a hard time finding a show that I could just watch for fun so I let this problem just fade away. I then went to my friends house and we watched a couple of movies and he showed me a new series called the Walking Dead. At first I was a little bit hesitant to start watching a Zombie series but then It was actually really spooky and fun to watch. The season starts off when the main character Rick is shot while he's on police duty. He then wakes up in the hospital but slips into a coma. Months later he wakes up to see that the flowers next to his bed are all dried up and that there is no nurse. This is really bizarre because when I first watched this I didn’t understand what was happening. After Rick leaves the room he was in he finds the hospital a mess and sees a room that is chained shut and says "quarantine" with hands poking out the door. I don’t want to give a way the rest of the episode so I'm going to talk about it a little more. The plot is surprisingly well thought out and it its super interesting. Something that I don’t really like about the season that much is that there is a ton of gore and some people like that in shows but I personally really am not interested in that. Something that I didn’t know was that this show is based on the comic series by marvel. I think that the comic would be a lot less exiting and scary then the tv show. I cant wait until the next season of the walking dead because its going to be much more in depth because the plot has already developed.

LOST, (spoiler alert)

I have finally finished LOST and I have to say it was the best TV series that I have ever watched. Yes its 2011 and the LOST pilot aired in 2005 but I was only 8 when this TV show became popular. The  first time I watched LOST was during summer 2010 and I had too watch the first 2 seasons on my laptop because I didn’t have the seasons on DVD. One of the things that I didn’t realize before I started LOST was that It had a sort of mystical and spooky aspect of it, especially in season 1. Adding to that thought I really liked  the beginning when Sayid found Rousseau's broadcast on the radio because this was really the beginning to all of there future problems and the events that would occur. Something that I still don’t understand is the polar bear that was on the Island that Sawyer killed with the gun. Maybe it just was something in season 1 to make the Island seem more mystical without showing to much.  My favorite characters have to be Charlie, Hurley and Richard. Hurley is awesome because he is rich but has the right mindset to help others. He is the one that comforts and helps people when they are down and he is also the one that cracks jokes throughout the whole series. Charlie is also one of my favorite characters because he is recovering Heroin addict and even though there was a huge stash of heroin found on the island he successfully didn’t  start taking it again and stopped all together. Another reason why I like Charlie is that even though many people thought he was a just a drug addict he only cared about helping others, you see this in season 3 where he is the one that tells Desmond "its not Penny's boat". Richard is also one of my favorite characters because he is just cool. While everybody is wearing ripped shirts and jeans, Richard is wearing  dress pants and a nice shirt and he always knows what to do. I really felt bad for Jack and Sawyer at the same time during season 5 because Jack convinces everyone that they should set off the bomb and this ends up killing Juliet and this was Sawyers first real successful relationship. When the "Flash sideways" start happening this added another huge part to the series. Even though it wasn’t actually happening in the real world it still showed all of the characters and how they would act in a perfect life. Many people don’t like the ending of LOST and feel that I didn’t tie up enough loose ends but I really enjoyed it and thought that it was the perfect ending to the Series. The main message of the END was that you always need friends and that all of the survivors and the people that were taken to the Island were all missing something in there life and the island gave them what they needed, Friends.

2011! and the new year!

Hello readers, Bucky here! 2010 has been an amazing year; its been fun in many ways but its also been a lot of work. 2010 was the year that I would begin high school and have my first final exams. Even though I'm glad that they are over this means that I have to start working harder to get better grader for the next semester. After I finished my exams and the vacation officially started me and my family went to Peru for vacation. Peru was really fun and it was a very different trip than what I usually do during Christmas. Usually I go back to the United States and spend time with my relatives but this time I had the opportunity to enjoy my winter break in another country. During my stay in Peru I traveled to the beach, the jungle and to Machu Pichu. Going to Machu Pichu was especially fun because I hiked the Inca trail to get there instead of taking the train. The first thing that I wanted to do when I got there was to take the famous photo from the rock looking down across the lost city of the Incas. Later in our trip we took another plane to a small airport in the jungle called Puerto Maldonado. From there we stayed at a lodge on the river and explored the jungle for a  few days. It was truly spectacular given that I saw monkeys, parrots, spiders and many other exotic animals. One of my favorite days in the jungle was when we hiked a few hours to a big lake that was as hot as a bathtub water. This was one of the best days of the trip and the lake was very refreshing. The end of our trip was nearing so we headed back to Lima for one more night until we would have to travel back home the next day. After our long trip and absence of school I'm actually ready to get back and have a routine again. Even though long vacations are fun, sometimes I'm ready to learn! I hope that this year is better than the last and I'm exited to have a great start to 2011.

Perdido

Hey readers, Bucky here! Usually with all the social activities and homework I have, I don’t usually find time to watch T.V. But one of the shows that I have taken a huge interest in is LOST. When LOST came out I was just 8 years old. I remember my teachers and older friends talking about how great this show actually was. Six years later I found myself surfing around the internet and I found the Pilot episode of LOST. When I watched it I was immediately hooked, even though the show was then over. I was kind of bummed out that I couldn’t keep up with the show as it progressed but then I realized that I had access to every episode and their wasn’t really a wait for when I could actually watch them. Once I started watching LOST I couldn’t stop and I’m currently on season 5. One of the things that I love about LOST is that people that I really hated at the beginning of the show now are probably my favorite characters and the people that didn’t really seem to important are now the main characters. This is very true and to me, this means to never judge a book by its cover. I can’t believe that they are traveling back and forth even though they don’t want to and that now the shows are switching back and forth every 3 minutes. I can’t wait to continue watching LOST and I guess I’m going to have to find another show to be addicted to after I’m done with this one. Sincerely,
Bucky  Buck

Bucky and Addictions

Hello readers, Bucky here! I’ve been thinking about many things lately but something that’s been going through my mind a lot is how people are addicted to certain things. Sure people are addicted to drugs and things that are bad for them but I’m talking about things that we do in our everyday lives. Specifically when I think of this, I think of Facebook. When I was just in 5th grade having an Email was pretty much the only way to ask questions or to talk to your friends with. Now I’m using my email less and less and actually sending messages through Facebook. I can’t really remember a day when I haven’t logged on to my Facebook to see if I have any new notifications or to see who’s online. Some people don’t even text anymore but use a Facebook app on their phones to send messages. It doesn’t bother me that people are on Facebook all the time; it just makes me wonder what technology we are going to be using in 10 years to communicate with each other. This might be an idea that is way out their but I believe that Facebook might start replacing games that people buy because you can play them anytime you want as long as you have an internet connection. In conclusion I think that some people might just be to dependent on it and it would be really cool if Facebook would “break down” for a couple of days, too see what people would do.

Finals make Bucky Sad :(

Hello readers, Bucky here! I cant believe it but its already November. This year has passed so quickly and its amazing that our next vacation is Christmas break.  Even though I am very happy that school is going by so fast I'm also starting to worry about something that I've never had to worry about before; Finals. One of the problems I had last year In 8th grade was Math class. No matter how hard I studied and how much homework I turned in, I could never really grasp the content we were learning and imbed it into my memory. Pretty much when we went to the next unit I would kinda forget the details of what we had just learned. The reason I am worried about Finals is because I'm going to have to study like crazy during dead week and have to try to remember what I have learned. I also don’t like the idea of each Test we get being 20 percent of our grade. At the  beginning of the year I slacked off a bit in some classes and my grades went down but now I'm trying harder to get them up again and when finals come I'm going to have to learn all the stuff I wasn’t really into at the beginning of the year. One of my plans to overcome my dilemma Is to start studying very soon so I don’t have to cram during dead week. To end on a happy/fun note, I'm really exited to go on our class trips!
